What is the degree of firmness of the tile paste?

1. It has a certain relationship with the tile itself.
Ceramic tiles are manufactured by drying a mixture of clay, sand and other natural materials and then firing them at high temperatures, with dry pressed bricks being the main use for ceramic tile applications.
These can produce different tile properties, such as different water absorption of the tiles. The lower the water absorption, the higher the structural density of the tiles, and the smaller the shrinkage after drying.

2. It is related to the tiles and the back pattern of the tiles.
The depth of the back grain and the shape of the back grain have a direct impact on the firmness of the tile adhesive to paste the tiles. Deepen the tile background or encrypt to increase the area of the pasting surface, which can increase the firmness of the tile adhesive and prevent hollowing or falling off

3. Related to pasting construction operations.
Tile adhesive paste construction requirements:
● Strictly control the water-cement ratio.
● The base surface must be stable and not shake, and must be sufficiently firm.
● The base surface of the wall should be consolidated, smooth, free of dust and debris, no plaque, no oil, no wax, no concrete curing agent, etc.
● The newly plastered base surface should be well maintained before pasting tiles.

4. Related to the selected tile adhesive.
Choose different binders for different substrates and application environments.
According to JC/T547 “Ceramic Tile Adhesives”, adhesives can generally be divided into three types according to their chemical composition: cement-based adhesives, paste emulsion adhesives and reactive resin adhesives. The cement-based products are divided into ceramic tile adhesives, mosaic adhesives, ceramic sheet adhesives, stone adhesives, etc.
